American sets his sights on WorldSSP podium

Continuing to have a tough time onboard his Italian machine, PJ Jacobsen (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) wasn’t too happy to miss out on a podium finish in the World Supersport class at TT Circuit Assen, as he crossed the line in fourth position.

Qualifying on the front row, Jacobsen got a strong start off the line and was fighting for second position early on in the race, locked in a strong battle for the podium spots. However he missed out on getting those all important sips of Prosecco, securing a top four finish in front of the Dutch crowds.

Noting a lack of power with his F3 675, the 22 year old looks ahead to his team’s home race, with the hope of some improvements for the fifth round of the season: “It was quite difficult for us today but we know some problems we need to work on for Imola, for MV Agusta’s home race. Today wasn’t the best result for me, because I was really looking forward to getting on the podium and getting more points, but we have some strong points now after getting fourth. We just need to keep working on getting on the podium more consistently and trying to get a race win soon. The MV guys work very hard when they get back to the work shop and it just seems like we’re lacking a bit of power vs the Yamaha’s, they are very fast but I think the guys are working to do something and are waiting to figure it out for the next race.”
